A TRANSPARENT LOCAL COMPARISON

Gulfport Roofing Companies to Put on Your Research List.

Each company below lists a Gulfport street address. This is not a paid ranking or an endorsement, and the order is not a ranking. Details were checked against BBB, GAF and state license listings in October 2026. Ratings and licenses change, so verify them again before you sign.

Pine Avenue Office | Since 1988 | BBB Accredited A+

BBB lists Strong Roofing at 2701 Pine Avenue, in business since 1988 and accredited since 2006 with an A+ rating, under Mississippi contractor license 22275. That is the longest record we found among Gulfport-based roofers. The company's main site lists GAF Certified, Owens Corning Preferred and CertainTeed Certified credentials and a state-licensed adjuster on staff.

B

Gulf South Roofing, LLC

26th Avenue Office | GAF Certified | BBB Accredited A+

GAF lists All Done Roofing at 805 34th Street as a GAF Certified contractor with Mississippi license R18800, in business since 2020. The company's site says it is "Fortification Certified"; we could not confirm that with IBHS, so ask for the certificate. We did not find a BBB profile.

WHAT “BEST” MEANS HERE

What Does “Best” Mean in Gulfport?

After Katrina, Gulfport's fire chief estimated that 75% of the city's buildings had major roof damage, if they had a roof left at all. Three years after Hurricane Zeta, a state-funded program was still taking applications from Harrison County homeowners whose Zeta roof damage had never been repaired. In Gulfport, the best roofer is the one that finishes the job and is still here for the next one.

Also worth a call: Husband Roofing & Contracting in neighboring Long Beach, BBB accredited A+ since 2021 with Mississippi license 18761. We did not find a Gulfport-based roofer listed as GAF Master Elite on GAF's own site; the profiles we checked were GAF Certified.

A ROOF IS A SYSTEM

The shingle is only the part you see.

Decking. Underlayment. Fasteners. Flashing. Roof edges. Valleys. Penetrations. Intake and exhaust ventilation. Starter. Ridge cap. Installation details.

We don’t just choose a shingle. We design the roofing system around the home.

HOW TO CHECK A GULFPORT ROOFER

Three Things to Confirm Before You Sign.

Gulfport has enough local roofers that you can afford to be selective. These three checks separate the established companies from the ones that arrive with the storm.

01

The Tier on GAF's Own Site

Certified, Certified Plus or Master Elite

GAF's tiers decide which warranties a contractor can register. Every Gulfport-based GAF profile we found was the base Certified tier. Look any company up on GAF's locator rather than trusting the yard sign or truck wrap.

A Contract That Keeps Your Claim Yours

Read what you are signing

In February 2026, the Attorney General, the Insurance Commissioner and the State Board of Contractors warned homeowners not to sign anything that gives a contractor rights to their insurance payout, and not to pay in full up front.

A Record Through the Last Storm

Ask what they did after Zeta

Ask each company how long it has worked in Gulfport and which storms it has worked through. Start dates for the companies above run from 1988 to 2020, and the answer tells you who will be around for the warranty.

WHAT GULFPORT ROOFS HAVE SEEN

Gulfport's Storm Record Is Recent, Not Just Historic.

Katrina and Zeta get the attention, but Gulfport roofs have taken damage from several tornadoes documented by the National Weather Service, including three on a single morning in 2026.

April 25, 2026: Three EF-1 Tornadoes

The National Weather Service confirmed three 95 mph EF-1 tornadoes in Gulfport within four minutes. One ran from 34th Street and Highway 49 toward Highway 90 and removed shingles from some homes.

June 24, 2020: Near the Aquarium

A 65 mph EF-0 tornado tracked from US 90 near the aquarium to the CSX line near Henderson Avenue, leaving minor roof damage to several homes.

March 9, 2011: Landon Road

A 105 mph EF-1 tornado north of Gulfport along Landon Road took part of one roof and blew in the garage doors of another home.

Post-Katrina Roofs Are Turning 20

The median Gulfport home was built in 1986, and the largest single decade is 2000 to 2009, at about 20%. Many of those rebuild-era roofs are now near the end of a typical shingle life.

That is why an accessible attic is part of the Armor inspection whenever possible. Ventilation, moisture, exhaust termination, insulation, and the underside of the roof deck can explain problems the shingles alone cannot.

In Gulfport, the best roofer has a record you can check, storm by storm.

WHERE ARMOR FITS

Where Armor Fits in the Gulfport Comparison.

Armor Roofing Gulf Coast is based in Ocean Springs and works across Harrison and Jackson counties. It is the new Mississippi operation of an established Michigan roofing company, not a company with decades of Gulfport projects. Armor is GAF Certified Plus and a certified FORTIFIED Roof provider, and we expect you to compare us with the Gulfport companies above.

Our differentiator is the process: inspect first, look at the accessible attic when appropriate, document what we find, build the scope around the roofing system, explain the recommendation, and let the homeowner decide. We expect homeowners to compare that process against other good contractors.

WHY IT BELONGS IN THE CONVERSATION

Replacement gives us access to the parts that matter most.

A roof is a system.

Details matter.

Preparation matters.

What happens underneath the shingles matters.

Your best defense starts long before the storm is in the forecast.

THE ARMOR INSPECTION

Compare the Scope Line by Line.

Ask how each proposal handles tear-off, decking, ventilation, starter, roof edges, flashing, penetrations, underlayment, fasteners, ridge protection, disposal, permits, workmanship coverage, manufacturer warranty, and any legitimate conditions that could change the contract price.

1. Start With Your Concerns & Roof History
2. Inspect the Exterior Roofing System
3. Inspect the Attic When Accessible
4. Evaluate Ventilation & Moisture
5. Document the Findings
6. Explain the Recommendation

The roof speaks. The attic tells the truth.

A lower price may be a better deal. It may also be a smaller scope. A higher price may include real value or unnecessary extras. The only way to know is to compare what is actually written down.

REAL WORK. REAL HOMES. REAL DETAILS.

Where to Check a Gulfport Roofer's Record.

Start with the state license at msboc.us, then read the BBB file, including complaints and how they were answered. Confirm manufacturer credentials on the manufacturer's own locator.

If something goes wrong, the Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division takes complaints through its online portal or at consumer@ago.ms.gov. A good reputation should hold up to every one of these checks, not just the star rating.
