Biloxi has used a dedicated damage-inspection line after storms, (228) 435-6280, and the Building Division is at (228) 435-6270. Confirm the permit before permanent repairs, because the city charges double for work started without one.
Expect a lot of debris
Zeta left an estimated 200,000 cubic yards of debris in Biloxi. Before any repair, ask where the contractor will stage materials and haul debris, and photograph the roof and gutters before cleanup starts.

December 2022 Tornado Path
A 90 mph EF-1 tornado came ashore near Beauvoir and crossed Pass Road and Veterans Avenue, pulling shingles from military housing and peeling a roof at the VA. Wind-lifted shingles can look fine from the street.

The 2011 Tornado
A 105 mph EF-1 tornado touched down near Cedar Lake Road and Popps Ferry Road in March 2011, destroying a mobile home and damaging several others. North of the Back Bay, falling limbs add to wind damage.

Keesler & the Back Bay
Zeta's 78-Knot Gust
During Zeta, the Biloxi station at Keesler recorded a 78-knot gust and the Back Bay rose 7.2 feet. Storms like that combine wind, rain and surge, so inspections separate roof damage from flood damage for the insurer.
